Theatre Programs

In our Theatre program we open up the world of storytelling using imaginative play, song and dance. Children gain confidence and a understanding of live theatre.

Mini Program

  • Action stories – telling stories as the children act out the story
  • Creating worlds and spaces with simple props and costumes
  • Guess Who I am – act out an animal, insect, person
  • Pretend/Social play – dramatic play without instruction
  • Mirror – copy teacher’s or another student’s movement
  • Not Anymore – taking a simple prop and creating new uses for it
  • Museum – moving when the “guard” isn’t looking, becoming a statue when the “guard” is looking
  • Quiet Story – acting out an activity without talking while others guess

Recreation Program

Our Rec Track students may be new to the vocabulary of the stage but their hearts have always been ignited by creativity. If your young performer has a story to tell, there is a spot on our stage for them. We welcome all levels of experience in our Rec Track productions. All RPA classes participate in fully staged productions in January and June. Wake up the body, warm up the vocal chords and Free the imagination!

Focus Program

Our focus track students are no strangers to the world of creating theatre. They are multifaceted performers taking a variety of classes in diverse genres. We are training well disciplined actors with a heart for the human condition.

Theatre Troupe

Theatre Troupe (Focus Track): Students will be admitted by Audition Only. 

Audition Requirements: To audition for Theatre Troupe you must be 10 years old by the first day of the session. Please come prepared to perform a one minute monologue that has been memorized and prepared. You will be asked to sing 16 bars of a song that best demonstrates your skill level. You will also learn a small amount of choreography in a group setting.

Requirements for a Troupe Member: All performers will need to be enrolled in two of the following: Acting Class, Musical Theatre, Dance or Vocal Training Class. Attend the Summer Intensive August 19th-23rd.

Theatre Intensives

Your imagination is loaded with magic! Unlock your creative super powers on Saturday, October 12th during a special weekend Intensive in Improvisation. Improv Actor and Teacher, Jessica Zodrow will show you the beauty of using the words “YES! And…” as you learn to create characters, build worlds and find your place on stage with the ensemble. Our afternoon in the studio will culminate in a 30 minute performance for friends and family. Students who are 10-18 years.
